Her heroes and villains are memorable, believable and authentically drawn to match their eras and circumstances. Ms. Campos has an easy style and is a great storyteller. The author writes an amazing novel that connects generations of Louisiana families - ones that first arrived from Europe two hundred years ago until the present day. An extremely interesting journey of family and fortune -- both good and bad. The author's knowledge of Louisiana and especially New Orleans was enlightening and entertaining. I couldn't put it down. Where was the necklace? A very good plot with lots of twists.
